Depending on what mode (and role in conquest) you're playing, the builds differ slightly. Focusing on Conquest and mid laning, I usually do the following: Opener: Vampire Shroud, Lost Artifact, x1 mana and health pots Full build: Pen.

Boots; Chronos Pendant; either Spear, Pythagorem's Piece or Talon; Gem of Iso or Spear or Piece or Talon; Rod; Some 6th item. As for the build I listed above, I personally love a hybrid cooldown / damage build on Poseidon.

Poseidon

You will have a ton of mana regen with Chronos Pendant and Rod. The cooldown and power and lifesteal from Piece is fantastic.

Poseidon, God of the Oceans. Poseidon, God of the Oceans, is a mage of the Greek pantheon in Smite. Patch Notes Hi-Rez Studios Gods.

Build

Spear is always grabbed on Poseidon because of how his abilities are DOT based. Lastly, Gem works naturally with his whirlpool. There isn't a set build for Poseidon as we're beginning to see a ton of item diversity in the game however keep in mind that should always take into consideration what is happening in each game and build based off that. I love Gem as a standard on Poseidon but if your team doesn't need that kind of lockdown on targets then you could instead pick up a bigger damage item or a defensive item.

If you're playing solo where you can do a ton of farming or If your in a position to stack and need a ton of health then you can grab a Warlock's Sash or if you're looking for power then a Book of Thoth is always a good choice. But say you're playing Poseidon in the duo lane as an ADC and want to go for an auto-attack style build which focuses on using his 2 over his whirlpool for damage. If that's the case you would be better of building Fatalis, Telkhine's Ring, Demonic Grip and Gem. Source: Diamond Poseidon.

In Conquest, I like double stacking with Warlock's and Thoth, then the standard pen boots, Spear, Rod, Chronos build after that. You can mix it up a little here and there; Soul Reaver is decent but unnecessary, Bancroft's is great for power and lifesteal, and Gem of Isolation has great synergy with his whirlpool. You can also build attack speed a little on the side, or focus on it more; with good power, CDR, and Demonic + Fatalis, Poseidon makes a pretty quick moving attacker with decent damage from his abilities. He also has great synergy with attacks using his passive, which even a Demonic Grip can help you take advantage of, but that's unnecessary.
